October 28, 2016. Fred Goguen, (Thankful, Pacific Dolphin #261) brought this ad to our attention. This is a newly found Dolphin, our 225th (75 more to go). Despite the fact that this boat has been sailing in Fred's backyard for years Fred will receive the DFI badge, really an honor long overdue.

November 1, 2016. Rick Oleson checked in with a short note (edited), and your webmaster just happened to be up in the Harpswell area of Maine on non Dolphin related matters, stopped by Paul's Marina, had a short visit with Playful Dolphin, and got the following picture.

Hello Ron

I will not be at my place in Brunswick this week but feel free to drop by Paul's Marina to see our 24' Yankee Dolphin - "Playful Dolphin". It is located on back of boat storage area on North side of lot - it's hull color is green. We are planning to fix/replace front hatch that blew off before winter. I have removed all the interior cabin cushions for storage over the winter. It does need some deck cleaning and the woodwork is in need of oiling or a full varnish job. Otherwise the boat is in good shape - we sailed it all summer on Casco Bay and it sails great. The outboard (9.8 HP 2-stroke Nissan) that comes with the boat I expect should have been taken off boat and delivered to Bamforth's Marine for cleaning and winterizing. This motor has been very reliable and always starts. Sails include a full main, 135% genoa and spinnaker.

Let me know if you should have any questions.

Rick Oleson

November 2, 2016 - Rick's Postscript

Actually, shrink wrapping was not to be done until motor was removed and taken to Bamforths Marine for winterizing - which will be done. Also was trying to have front hatch repaired before winter and shrink wrapping. Will provide some internal pics and details later next week.

Thank you again.
