Ryan and Liz Lacz's Tango II/Muirin, Yankee #244, SOLD, Washington, District of Columbia - updated July 23, 2014

July 23, 2014. Molly Schar checking in as the new owner of Yankee #244. Here is her email.

Hi, Ron!

I'm thrilled to be checking in as the new owner of Yankee Dolphin #244. Ryan and Liz Lacz made some great improvements to the boat, including renaming her the Muirin (Gaelic for "of the sea"). I'm excited for the adventures and projects to come. I intend to take full advantage of this wonderful community you've built of Dolphin owners. Thanks in advance to all for guidance, insights and camaraderie. Warm regards,

Molly Schar

July 23, 2014 - And we heard from Ryan

Hi Ron -

just a quick heads up that we've sold Muirin (we renamed tango II last season...), to a local DC person, so we maintain the tradition of keeping a presidential boat!  Bit of a mishap during the test sail when the centerboard line slipped out of the crew hands and we ended up snapping the bolt attaching it when the board bottomed out!  There's a knot tied in the end of the line that stopped the swinging board too suddenly.  We could still feel the board in the boot so thankfully we didn't loose the board all together!  A word to the wise for everyone out there to haul it and check it before it goes...Many great times about the boat, and we'll miss the sleek lines and easy handling.

Happy sailing

Ryan

July 17, 2014 - updated ad on Craigslist http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/doc/boa/4569443721.html. Asking $4500

June 30, 2014. Well, its happened again - Ryan and Liz are moving and Tango II is FOR SALE. Here is Ryan's email and his ad, and here is the link to http://www.sailboatlistings.com/view/44016

Hi Ron-

The day has come - time to sell our baby!  We're moving and can't take her with us.  It was a tough decision, as we've had many great sails over the short time we've owned her- hopefully, she will go home with someone who enjoys sailing her as much as we do!

Solidly built boat, designed by Sparkman and Stephens, and originally designed for the Transpac race, so she is comfortable in larger bodies of water. February 18, 2013. Ryan and Liz Lacz have officially checked in as the new owners of Tango II and sent in a picture as well. Their email is below (minor edits)

Hi Ron

in the excitement of taking the plunge into boat ownership, I forgot to update you that we did end up going for Tango II (hull 244).  She's in decent shape, we're just getting her up to speed with new running rigging, and tweaking things here and there to get it the way we like, etc.

We're still sailing out of Washington, DC - just moved marinas literally across the river (to the James Creek Marina)

Love the website - lots of great info there!

Ryan & Liz

Tango II used to have a green hull when she was Psycho. Prior owner Rob Tassel had her painted, and she looks great! Click here to go Tango II's page when Rob had her.

Ryan had first checked in with the website back in October, 2012 when he was first interested Tango II, and in Dolphin 24s. We have a 'database' of people just like Ryan who become interested in Dolphins, use the website for research, and sometimes buy one. That database is titled 'Interested in Dolphins".
