Jay Picotte's Angler 22 Waterlily (updated January 21, 2012)

Built by F.L.Tripp and Sons, Westport, MA in 1983 - a builder of Dolphins. Jay must be the only guy in the world to have restored both a classic sailboat (Recovery) and a classic powerboat from the same builder!

Palmer Scott, who built the first Dolphins, also built small fiberglass fishing boats called the Angler 18 and 23. Allen Tripp, of F.L. Tripp & Sons in Westport, MA, told your webmaster that after Palmer retired he came to work part time for their company, bringing with him a wealth of knowhow on building fiberglass boats. In the late 1950's Tripp purchased the molds for the Palmer Angler 23 which became the basis for the famous Tripp 22 bass boat still in production and now known as the Angler 22!

Webmaster note: It occurs to me that a powerboat can be a beautiful thing. Is this a good looking boat? or what??

January 21, 2012. Waterlilly has powerful genes, or at least cousins that have them. Click here to find out why.
