Yet, apparently, the spring is not needed if the door has some fitting resistance or hinge push-out pressure that will snugly hold the latch in a fixed "closed position" by resistance.. (I also wonder if adding a clear rubber "bumpon"/ "rubber foot pad" to the cabinet frame-under the cabinet door closing area- would potentially solve the lack of "push-out pressure" and also make for a quieter closing while saving nearly $10 per latch...? The non-spring model is a much more cost effective purchase when buying 8-10 replacements like I plan to for Spectra.
