February 13, 2012. Free Spirit was checked in yesterday with Giles Grimston (Summer Wine), and we have some pictures. She was bought about a year ago from Vince Satherly.
Dear Ron
Just had a fascinating chat with Steve who owns Free Spirit 2 sail number K2343 which he bought off Vince Satherly. She is currently moored in Omokoroa. Near her is a blue Falcon called Chivas Regal. Steve has promised photos.
Kind regards
Giles
PS I have copied Steve with this so you both have the relevant emails

The pictures are from early days of acquisition. The owner reports Free Spirit is in need of a bit of TLC, and minor improvements such as the hull and deck joint are past due. Plans are this will be glassed up inside and out, with new 50x30 mm toerails fitted, and a jib traveller on top so as to clear up the side decks. Also a seagoing galley has to be figured out and fitted, and fitting out of wind vane steering. Power is 2 x 20w solar panels to be fitted to pushpit. There is a cockpit dodger ready to be fitted, and a leak sealing program is ongoing.
More pictures and status reports will be forthcoming. A side point - moored in this same area is a blue hull Falcon 24 named Chivas Regal....We are working on this.
