April 24, 2011. Back on November 11, 2010. DFI (Dolphin Field Investigator) Mike Zint (Grand Finale) told us about this boat. He saw it For Sale in the October, 2010 classifieds section of Latitude 38 Magazine. After speaking with the owner, Jim DeMeola, Mike contacted us. This event qualified, at that time, as a newly found Dolphin, our 168th. Click here to go to that page.

Below is the text of the the Latitude 38 ad, updated. Your webmaster spoke to Jim on April 23 and he gave me an update. Three weeeks ago the hose for one of the cockpit drains failed (we better check ours!!!) and the boat sank at the dock. She was raised last week and there was not much damage - its cold, fresh water - the sails, cushions and motor were not on the boat. One of the bow chocks pulled out, and for some reason the centerboard wire parted. The boat is dried out and will be hauled in a few days.

Jim is reducing the price to $2500 without the motor, or best offer. He has had the boat for 12 years, buying it from someone who bought it in San Francisco and had it on Lake Tahoe for three years before Jim bought it. She has wood combings and hatches. The boat has no name - there was a faint image of lettering on the transom but Jim could not make it out. There is no trailer. We hope to get some pictures soon
