Larry Laughlin's Yankee #132, San Diego, California

November 23, 2010. Larry tried to check in his boat some time ago but his email got lost. Here she is with pictures and Larry's email (minor edits). She is another 'newly found Dolphin', our 169th.

Hi

I purchased the boat back in the 80's from my dad. He bought it from a fellow San Diegan in the late 70's/early 80's. She never had an official name other than "Yankee Dolphin".  I know that previous owner, prior to my dad, sailed the boat to Catalina Island. I've sailed the boat throughout San Diego Bay, ocean,  and Mission Bay.

She has gone through several overhauls over the years.  I've replaced the electrical system, installed a stereo, replaced the sails, replaced the head, painted the hull (two part polyurethane) and top sides (one part polyurethane) , overhauled the windows, and just refinished the teak with Sikkens Cetol Teak.  Someday I need to tackle the blisters on the hull, get new cushions, and purchase a spinnaker. She has a 5 hp Suzuki outboard.

She's a 1969, 24 ft. Yankee Dolphin, hull number 132.  My boat is my pride and joy!

Larry
